Ms. Mary Smoczynski is Principal and Sr. Consultant for Strategic Safety Planning Inc. Ms. Smoczynski is a registered nurse, an occupational health and safety specialist, a facilitator, Senior Emergency Exercise Controller and Evaluator, and emergency management specialist. She has a diploma in Nursing, a Bachelor of Science in Health Arts and a Master of Public Health from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is a Certified Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Instructor, Certified DHS Homeland Security Exercise Evaluation Program (HSEEP) Trainer and a Certified DHS, FEMA Pandemic Planning and Preparedness Instructor. Ms. Smoczynski is also a Certified OSHA Healthcare Facilities Evacuation Planning trainer.

Ms. Smoczynski has extensive background in emergency management, public health, occupational and environmental health and safety, risk assessment and worker health and safety. She is an instructor and an invited speaker.
